Selected for DOE Genesis Mission award negotiations

We are excited and honored that Baseline Fission has been selected as a partner in an inaugural U.S. Department of Energy Genesis Mission project.

Baseline Fission is a project partner on the University of Nevada, Reno-led “Data to Decision” (D2D) initiative, working with Desert Research Institute and Sandia National Laboratories to advance AI-assisted safety-case development and repository licensing.

The Genesis Mission is a national initiative that brings together artificial intelligence, advanced computing, and America’s scientific infrastructure to accelerate discovery and address critical challenges in science, energy, and national security.

More than 5,000 proposals were submitted nationwide, with only 278 projects selected for the inaugural cohort. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this highly selective national effort.

Together, we will advance reliable, human-supervised, and auditable agentic AI for nuclear-waste repository safety-case development.

This work lies at the intersection of nuclear engineering, scientific and regulatory reasoning, retrieval-augmented generation, and trustworthy artificial intelligence. We look forward to working with our partners to develop tools that strengthen the rigor, transparency, and efficiency of nuclear safety analysis.
